Small bits of color make the morning walk to the bus…breathe deep, only here for a moment.
Take a breath… 7.21.17.
Dear Pushy Prick… with your badge at the ready.
Take a moment and calm down. The bus JUST stopped for us. There are 37 OTHER people that also need to get onto it. We are all going to get on the bus… there really is no reason for you to hip chuck anyone.
Even if y’all don’t get to sit down… you can stand and hang on for dear life…just like the rest of us.
Carry on.
Decisions… 7.21.17.
This morning, as I anxiously waited for the coffee to take its sweet time brewing… I was tempted to drive my car the 0.8 miles to the Park n’ Ride… it seemed much more satisfying than hauling my arse back up the long hill this evening; sweaty and tired from the day’s shenagians.
But then it occurred how much more of a pain it is to navigate in a car… at 6:08pm… walking being so much more efficient. Even if one dozes and misses a stop.
So there it is, I have walked to my bus stop… I need the steps anyway.
Beauty… 7.19.17
Bossy crosswalk people… 7.18.17
There are already 23 people already AT this crosswalk… pushing your way through to get to the very edge of the curb will not get you across the street any faster than the rest of us.
But g’head… step forward.
Fifth grade… 7.17.17
Tired. Hot. Waited eight minutes for the 312, in the city….just want to get the 14 miles home to Kenmore, and you know it’s at least 67 minutes away.
Mood begins to falter…
Step on the bus and see a coworker! MUST sit with them… mood suddenly so much better!
Like being in elementary school again.
Dryer sheets… 7.17.17
It occurs to me, sitting here, en route to downtown… as the aisle is lined with standing standing commuters, backpacks, satchels, purses; holding on for dear life. That dryer sheets are a beautiful thing. We stand, sir, lean so close together… and early in the morning; that there are a lot of strange smells.
I am quite lucky that, this morning, I am jammed between two people who have used dryer sheets… no strange smells. Thank goodness.
Allergies are stupid… 7.17.17
When you want to look cute, and wear your glasses that go WITH your skirt of choice, but they’re the ones that don’t get darker when you’re in sunlight…
…and it’s summer and the grasses are pollinating.
So by the time you actually get to the bus stop; in the bright, early morning sunshine, desperately trying not to sneeze every seven minutes, your eyes look like you’ve been watching after-school specials from 1983!
*sigh*
Huh… 7.14.17
Always an adventure walking TO my going-home-stop through Pioneer Square.
Today a gentleman was video chatting on a tablet…one hand fully involved in his man-parts, as he paced the sidewalk.
I suppose everyone must multitask on a Friday afternoon.
Soon… 7.14.17
Mornings in the summer are not quite the crisp, chilled mornings of the fall. The sun is higher in the sky, the air is warm and inviting, and light is everywhere.
I’m fond of these summer mornings, they make the walk to the bus cheerful and easy.
For now, I appreciate only needed a light sweater at 6:47am… soon this will change into much warmer things for the dark, less colorful walk to and from my 522/312 rendezvous points.
Stand in the sun for a moment. Eyes closed. Even when the sun hangs lower in the sky. Breath deep. Early mornings aren’t so bad.
